The Yellow Door Cottage

“The one with the yellow front door.” That is what we heard all week during the tours of 2013 Parade of Homes. It was a bold choice at the last minute. A couple of weeks before the homes were finishing I drove up and down the street. All the homes were so beautiful and distinctive in their own way, but I thought to myself what makes this Slattery Home memorable. When it came to me to paint the front door a fun memorable color.

Instantly I pulled the paint booklet out and chose Lemon Twist by Sherwin Williams. I did not even second guess it! Besides a yellow front door says your logical while also creative. This home is the floor plan the somerset. It was designed and built for the home show. Everyone in the design center came up with ideas and we put it together in a quaint cottage. The home was liked by many. It was so popular we designed a ranch spin off called the Astoria. You can check both plans under the floor plans tab on our website.

As you enter the foyer you will be greeted by an arch opening that opens o the large family room. The ceiling is coffered and runs through to the kitchen. The pantry door was custom made with a chalkboard and a chalk shelf. The master is on the main level with a luxury master suite. Upstairs is 2 bedrooms with a full bath. In our floor plans available we do have the option for 3 bedrooms up with a reading nook. This home won 4 first place awards: best home overall, best master bath, best interior design, best landscape along with second place for best kitchen. The home is truly a classic cottage inside and out.
