The Preppy Craftsman

Every year Slattery Builders design and build, never seen before, floor plans. It’s not only fun for us but it gives Fort Wayne character. We want to welcome the Northridge. The thought and design was made by our own architect Shane. He wanted a downtown feel with today’s style. We just finished and sold our Roselyn 2018 Model. The home was super stunning and came to be known as a lady. So when the Northridge was being presented to all of us at the the design center, we couldn’t help to think it’s her preppy brother. That is when the style preppy craftsman came to play. When designing a craftsman look you want your attention to be directed to the main living area.

The interior of the home nods to the modern craftsman feel with all the woodwork detail, but instead of traditional stained woodwork it is all painted fresh white. The paint colors need to be brighter in the main living area with darker, bolder colors in the surrounding rooms. We showed off a mix of blacks, tans, and browns, all throughout this home. You have to see it to believe it, it is amazing! The designer choose to due mission panel on the walls with shiplap above. The subway tile surrounds the kitchen backslash along with the fireplace. The bold color in dining room is Mossy Gold SW6139. The colors did not stop at the first floor. We continued the design upstairs with black inkwell color ceiling and custom color on the bedroom doors. 50% Stardew and 50% Uncertain Gray, all of which are Sherwin Williams colors.

On the main level is an open kitchen with 2 sinks. One for your main kitchen sink and the other for prepping meals. This 4 bedroom 2.5 bath home has all the gorgeous craftsman details that you could possibly want, the great room has built-ins on either side of the gas fireplace and shiplap donned walls, plus a 12 ft sliding door so that you can fully enjoy the back yard.  The exterior features dual ceiling fans on the front porch with craftsman style stained front door and dentil molding along with huge brick custom porch columns. We really enjoyed each step of this home in the build process. Call our office for more information on this home.
